DataMan 290

General-purpose fixed-mount barcode reader with AI-assisted positioning and tuning for label, printed and direct part mark (DPM) codes.
DataMan 290 is Cognex's general-purpose fixed-mount barcode reader series. Embedded AI helps place the reader at the right distance from the code and finds suitable settings automatically, and it enhances the image of damaged or low-quality codes so they can still be decoded.
It suits production stations where label, printed and direct part mark (DPM) codes should be handled by one type of device. Setup runs step by step in a browser-based interface, and the compact housing fits crowded machines and tight lines.
