SPECTRO-1

SPECTRO-1 contrast sensors detect the smallest brightness differences at high speed, with light sources from UV to infrared and an analogue output.
SPECTRO-1 is a single-channel contrast sensor: a photodiode measures the light returned from a surface lit by the sensor's own source, and grey-value differences are evaluated almost in real time. Besides white light there are types with UV, UVC, blue, green and infrared LEDs or a laser diode; the fibre-optic (FIO) types work in both reflected and transmitted light.
The analogue output reports the current contrast value, while two digital outputs show whether it lies within tolerance. The sensor is used for mark and contrast checks that do not need colour discrimination, for detecting fluorescent objects with the UV types, for spotting transparent plastic films with the polarising types and for dullness checks with the 860 nm infrared types.
Key features
- Single-channel measurement; photodiode receiver, 12-bit A/D conversion
