SPECTRO-3

SPECTRO-3 true-colour sensors detect colour marks, painted surfaces and self-luminous objects on the line with colour perception close to the human eye.
The SPECTRO-3 family uses a three-range true-colour detector that splits light into its red, green and blue components, with filter curves to CIE 1931. The sensor illuminates the object with a white or UV LED, compares the reflected light with taught colour references and reports the result on its digital outputs. With the internal light switched off, it can also check the colour and brightness of self-luminous objects such as LEDs and tail lights.
Confocal, diffuse, polarising, 45°/0° and fibre-optic front ends cover operating distances from 0.2 mm to 500 mm. On the line it is used to check colour marks, paint and coating differences, and high-gloss or metallic painted surfaces; the MSM types measure colour as colour-space values such as L*a*b*. Fibre-optic versions can also be used in hazardous (Ex) areas.
Key features
- Three-range true-colour detector (CIE 1931 filter curves), raw data at 12-bit resolution
- White LED illumination; UV LED (375 nm) types for fluorescent marks
- Up to 31 taught colours, output as binary code on 5 digital outputs; ANA types add 3 analogue outputs (0–10 V)
- AC, DC and OFF operating modes; scan frequency up to 35 kHz on M34 types and up to 90 kHz on SL and ANA types
- RS232 interface (USB and Ethernet adapters), set-up with SPECTRO3-Scope, then stand-alone operation without a PC
- M34 threaded cylindrical or rectangular aluminium housing; optics IP67, electronics IP64
