Coffee machine maintenance tests: central analysis of service stations
Test modules on the service benches measure pump pressure and brew temperature of each machine and send them to a central board. Station data is gathered on one screen and the trend across test runs is compared with the limit.
Station measurements are stored in the central database; a station below the limit is flagged on the board and the stack light, and the machine concerned is linked to a service work order.

Need
Service benches are in different places and with different technicians; the pump pressure drop of a single machine develops slowly and can look within limits in a single test. The problem only becomes visible when station data is watched on the same screen across repeated tests.
Solution approach
The test module on each bench measures pump pressure and brew temperature during the brew cycle and sends them to the central board with the station code. The board plots the latest values of every station and the pressure trend of recent tests; when a value or the trend drops below the limit the station is flagged and the stack light warns.
Process steps
- 01
Test
On each bench the machine runs a brew cycle while the module measures.
- 02
Data transfer
Measurements are sent to the central board with their station code.
- 03
Central analysis
The pressure trend of each station is plotted over recent tests.
- 04
Decide
Latest values and trend are compared with the limit.
