Logo inspection
The badge on the product front is imaged head-on on the line. Pattern matching locates it, and its presence, position and angle are compared with the reference. A missing, shifted or tilted badge is flagged.
Position and angle deviation are stored with the product ID; an out-of-tolerance or missing badge is reported on the stack light and the display, the product is flagged for correction and does not pass to the next station without approval.

Need
A bright metal badge sits on a glossy painted door; reflections and low contrast corrupt the edges. Since the product settles on its pallet a few millimetres differently every time, the badge position must be separated from the product position.
Solution approach
The camera looks at the badge head-on; a coaxial ring light spreads the reflection evenly and sharpens the badge edges. A pallet photo-sensor reports that the product has stopped; a reference is found on the door edge, then the badge is matched to the template inside the search window and position and angle are measured against that reference. With no match the badge is reported missing.
