GLAST

GLAST sensors inspect surface quality inline on highly reflective surfaces such as stainless steel, aluminium and paint, and on transparent glass and film.
In GLAST (GLoss And STructure) sensors a projection lens images a line grid onto a line detector by way of the object under test. In the reflective method the surface acts as a mirror; transparent objects are placed just in front of the grid. In both cases the quality of the object determines the quality of the signal on the detector.
In the reflective method the transmitter and receiver axes are inclined at 30° (or 45°) to the vertical; in the through-beam method the object stands perpendicular to the optical axis, with about 135 mm between transmitter and receiver. The sensors are used to assess surface quality on stainless steel and aluminium sheet, painted surfaces and plastic films, and optical quality on glass and acrylic sheet.

GLOSS / RLS
GLOSS and RLS-GD gloss sensors measure surface gloss on the production line, contact-free and continuously, at standard angles such as 20°, 60° and 85°.

COAST
COAST hybrid sensors evaluate colour, gloss and surface texture together and tell apart surfaces of the same colour but different structure.

SPECTRO-M
SPECTRO-M mid-infrared (MIR) sensors measure the thickness of thin oil and plastic layers on metal surfaces inline, from 0.1 µm upwards.

SI-JET
SI-JET spray jet control systems use light barriers to monitor the density, symmetry and cone angle of the spray leaving a nozzle, inline.
