SPECTRO-M

SPECTRO-M mid-infrared (MIR) sensors measure the thickness of thin oil and plastic layers on metal surfaces inline, from 0.1 µm upwards.
The SPECTRO-M series works in the mid-wavelength infrared (MIR) range and uses a method that Sensor Instruments developed for very thin organic layers on metal surfaces. The sensor determines the thickness of an oil or plastic layer on metal from 0.1 µm upwards; the Windows software shows the result as thickness in µm and surface tension in mN/m.
A typical task is checking whether stamped and cut parts are completely free of cutting oil after washing; unlike spot checks with test ink, the measurement can run inline. The sensors can also measure the thickness of thin transparent plastic films during production and check the tension of stretch films.

GLOSS / RLS
GLOSS and RLS-GD gloss sensors measure surface gloss on the production line, contact-free and continuously, at standard angles such as 20°, 60° and 85°.

COAST
COAST hybrid sensors evaluate colour, gloss and surface texture together and tell apart surfaces of the same colour but different structure.

GLAST
GLAST sensors inspect surface quality inline on highly reflective surfaces such as stainless steel, aluminium and paint, and on transparent glass and film.

SI-JET
SI-JET spray jet control systems use light barriers to monitor the density, symmetry and cone angle of the spray leaving a nozzle, inline.
