2D code serialisation and case aggregation
The carton code and human-readable text are verified after printing. Codes in the open case are read together from above; the serial list and count are compared, and a label link is created for a conforming case.
The carton-case-pallet relationship is written to the traceability record; a duplicate serial blocks case approval and label output, and its slot is shown on the operator display.

Need
Carton tilt and print contrast make codes harder to read. Individually readable codes can still be duplicates; the serial list in the case must match its expected contents.
Solution approach
The post-print camera compares code and text on the same carton. A wide-field overhead camera reads all case codes in one image; the serial list is compared with the expected count and master data. A valid list is linked to the case label and pallet record.
Process steps
- 01
Print check
The carton code and human-readable text are matched.
- 02
Group reading
All case codes are imaged from above.
- 03
List comparison
The count and unique serial list are checked.
- 04
Case decision
A valid case is labelled; a duplicate serial blocks approval.
