Energy label and rating plate verification
The front energy label and rear rating plate of a washing machine are imaged at the line exit. Codes, serial number and class arrow are compared with the production order; a mismatch directs the product to the side line.
Label, rating-plate and serial matches are written to the product record. A mismatching product is directed to the side line; read and expected values are shown on the operator display.

Need
The glossy body and wrinkled label reflect light; labels for different markets look similar. Even if the serial number or class arrow is readable, it must also match the production order.
Solution approach
A front area camera images the label under bar lights; text and the 2D code are read and the class arrow is located by template matching. A rear reader acquires rating-plate and serial data. Results from both faces are compared with the production order in the same product record.
