Rear-view mirror sensor and warning print check
The mirror on the dial table stops in front of the camera. The first region verifies that the sensor lens is in place; the second matches the warning print against the taught pattern. Missing or faint print is rejected.
Sensor presence and print score are written to the display as a nest-linked result; the nest indicator and stack light identify the NG part for the separation station.

Need
The dark sensor lens and housing reflections complicate presence inspection. Faint or missing warning-print regions can be confused with changes in the mirror pose within its nest.
Solution approach
While the table indexes, a photo-sensor sees the mirror enter the station; when it stops, the camera is triggered and the ring light strobes. The camera faces the housing head-on; the coaxial ring light illuminates the lens surround and the print without shadows. The lens region is evaluated separately; the print is aligned to the reference and checked for missing strokes and pattern match.
Process steps
- 01
Index
The dial table indexes one step and the next mirror reaches the station.
- 02
Acquire
The ring light strobes and the sensor housing is imaged.
- 03
Sensor
The lens region is checked for presence of the sensor.
- 04
Print
The warning symbol and code are matched against the taught pattern.
- 05
Decide
Both region results are combined and written to the nest.
