Surface-referenced carton glue profiles with valid-data separation
Carton-closing glue must remain visible before the flap closes. Missing laser returns on shiny or translucent glue can be mistaken for missing adhesive; measurements must reference the local carton surface.
The surface-relative profile, possible glue gaps and invalid-data mask appear separately. A selected-track trial does not establish full-flap coverage or line-speed readiness; subsequent optical selection follows measured evidence.

Solution approach
An accessible glue track on an open, supported flap is profiled with encoder synchronization. The local carton surface forms the datum; bead height, width and gaps are assessed only on valid data. Missing returns produce UNKNOWN; coverage and actual speed are measured in sample trials.
