Position-tracked robotic picking from a moving belt
The image target follows the current belt position to complete the simulated pick. A stale target or missing grip confirmation prevents transfer completion and requests reassociation. Calibration, grip and PLC sequence are animated as an illustrative simulation.

Need
Cartons keep moving after image capture. A robot using stale coordinates can approach a neighbouring item; item identity and encoder position must stay linked until the pick.
Solution approach
Locate carton centre and orientation and link them to encoder position in one target record. Follow the current pick window in the simulated controller sequence. The robot aligns, grips, lifts off the belt and lowers at the outfeed; verify destination presence after release.
Process steps
- 01
Image and source
Link the carton image and initial encoder position to one target.
- 02
Pose and plan
Update target position with belt movement; associate robot approach with the current pick window.
- 03
Grip and lift
Approach the current carton position, grip and lift clear of the belt.
- 04
Transfer
Carry the carton attached to the gripper towards the fixed outfeed; retire its former belt target.
- 05
Release and final check
Lower and release the carton; record destination presence and the completed simulated transfer.
