Wire colour and sequence check on harness terminal blocks
The harness wired into the terminal block is imaged in colour from above under diffuse white light. The colour of the wire entering each slot is sampled and compared with the taught sequence; swapped wires are flagged by slot number.
The display shows the measured sequence, verified-slot count and largest colour difference; the tower signals the decision and the faulty harness pallet moves to the rear rework lane.

Need
Similar neighbouring wire shades, reflections on glossy insulation and harness movement in the nest can obscure the sequence; colour alone does not establish that a wire enters the correct slot.
Solution approach
The top view keeps slot entries in one plane, while two angled bar lights soften reflections from insulation. A photo-sensor detects the pallet and capture occurs at the stopper; each entry is matched to the taught colour sequence and swapped slots are flagged together.
Process steps
- 01
Infeed
The pallet arrives with the wired terminal block and waits at the stopper.
- 02
Acquire
The bar lights strobe and the top camera images the slot entries in colour.
- 03
Colour order
Slots are sampled in turn and the measured colour is compared with the taught one.
- 04
Decide
Slots whose colour difference exceeds the threshold count as faulty.
