Casting texture grades with uncertain-sample handling
Fine, coarse and heterogeneous textures on the same casting geometry can represent different quality grades; a geometry check alone does not resolve the texture distinction.
Log the texture class, top-two score gap and order match. Release the expected class; hold a wrong or uncertain class in the operator nest.

Solution approach
The controlled image ROI is classified; the raw image and C1/C2/C3 scores appear separately. The order class and confidence threshold are evaluated together. A rotary table presents three textures in the same ROI; low confidence on the mixed example becomes a separate reason to hold it.
Process steps
- 01
Recipe
Load the class expected by the order.
- 02
Raw image
Trigger the specimen under fixed lighting and link the image to its ROI.
- 03
Class scores
Reveal the three illustrative class scores as comparative bars.
- 04
Confidence gate
A low score becomes UNKNOWN; a confident wrong class is also not accepted.
- 05
Route
Release the accepted example and transfer the others to the review nest.
