Display / HMI testing
The display module is powered in a rotating test nest. A stylus axis presses the touch points and the sensed position is compared with the commanded one; the screen then shows test patterns and the camera measures pixel defects and backlight uniformity.
Touch offset, uniformity and pixel count are sent to the operator screen; the pixel column is marked in the image and the tower signals the unit NG decision.

Need
Capturing during a pattern change can produce a false pixel result; brightness and view angle affect uniformity, while touch offset must be evaluated separately from image defects.
Solution approach
The rotating nest presents the screen normal to the camera; an axis-mounted stylus presses targets and sensed positions are compared with commands. Images are captured after colour bars and a white field settle; regional uniformity, the defective pixel column and touch offsets appear together on the operator screen.
Process steps
- 01
Load
The test nest turns 180° and brings the next unit in front of the camera.
- 02
Touch test
The stylus presses three targets in turn and the position sensed by the screen is logged.
- 03
Test patterns
Colour bars and a white field are displayed and the camera images each pattern.
- 04
Decide
Touch offset, uniformity and defective-pixel count are compared with the limits.
