Feeding cartons from a pallet to a roller production infeed
The pallet target and roller-buffer placement remain traceable. Occluded cartons or an occupied buffer prevent feed completion and request source reassessment. Line, robot and PLC phases are animated as an illustrative simulation.

Need
Pallet cartons can occupy different layers and angles while an earlier carton waits at the roller infeed. Validate the current top-layer target and outfeed clearance to prevent wrong picks or feed conflicts.
Solution approach
Locate the pallet layer and visible carton face; associate current carton pose with roller-infeed readiness. Grip, lift from the layer and carry above the buffer. Lower and release onto the rollers; show destination presence and pallet-layer update in one event chain.
Process steps
- 01
Line and item image
Image the pallet layer and roller infeed; select a top carton candidate.
- 02
Target and line permission
Associate the current carton pose with an empty buffer destination.
- 03
Grip and lift
Grip and lift the carton clear of the layer; neighbouring cartons remain in place.
- 04
Transfer across the line
Carry above the roller infeed; follow pallet and buffer records separately.
- 05
Receipt and final check
Lower and release onto the rollers; record presence confirmation and the source update.
