Component and placement inspection in automotive / EV production
The battery tray stops in the station and a gantry-mounted camera images it zone by zone. Presence and position of modules, busbars, connectors and coolant ports are compared with a template; a missing or shifted part is marked on the map.
Found and missing component counts, maximum position deviation and the marked tray map are combined in one result; an OK or NG decision is produced for the tray.

Need
A missing busbar or misplaced component in the battery tray can proceed unnoticed to the next assembly step. Inspection evaluates both part presence and distance from the reference position.
Solution approach
The photo-sensor detects the tray. After it stops, the gantry camera images two zones from above to reduce component occlusion, while ring lighting defines their edges. Modules, busbars and connections are compared with the layout template; missing regions and position deviations are added to the map.
Process steps
- 01
Positioning
The tray enters the station on the roller line and stops at the reference position.
- 02
Zone 1
The camera images the first zone; modules and busbars are compared with the template.
- 03
Zone 2
The camera moves to the second zone and checks the connector, control boxes and ports.
- 04
Decide
The found components are compared with the expected list.
