Hand–eye verification of robot and camera coordinates

Solution concept

Reference target, transform version and final placement share one verification record. The illustrative pose offset is neither a calibration acceptance criterion nor guaranteed accuracy. Vision, robot and PLC states are an illustrative solution concept.

Need

A camera-located target may not identify the same point in robot-base coordinates. Camera, tool or fixture changes can affect the transform; verify the coordinate relationship with a reference target before production picking.

Solution approach

Locate the reference target and show the predefined camera-to-robot transform and tool reference in a simulated verification context. Grip and carry the target to the verification fixture. Compare final position with the reference; this demonstration does not run a real multi-pose calibration calculation.

Process steps

  1. 01

    Image and reference

Capture the reference target and establish the defined coordinate context.

  2. 02

    Pose and evaluation

Show the camera-to-robot transform and tool reference; associate the target with the verification fixture.

  3. 03

    Grip and lift

Grip the reference target and lift it from the presentation surface.

  4. 04

    Controlled transfer

Carry the target above the verification fixture in the defined robot coordinates.

  5. 05

    Final check and record

Release the target and show the final reference-relative offset as an illustrative verification result.
